Sunday

Morning storms brought in clouds that reminded me of a movie poster. A movie about alien invasions or something like that. Then the root system below reminded me of a movie, too. Like a slithering tree from Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter or something. Mother Nature can be a little creepy sometimes.

The above root system was growing along a hiking path at Graham Cave State Park. I've seen the sign for this place along I-70 for as long as I can remember. Today, curiosity got the best of me and I finally stopped to check it out. There are few things I love more than instant gratification hikes. The park's namesake was literally .02 miles into the path. So I was in and out in about ten minutes - walked the path, saw the cave, walked to the car. Done. How perfect is that?
